The Inzovu Blend is the signature coffee that made our sister company, Rwanda Trading Company (RTC), renowned worldwide over the past decade. This blend is composed of coffees sourced from the western and southern regions of Rwanda, where they are grown on the mid-to-high-altitude hills that define the country’s landscape.

Inzovu epitomizes the unique flavor profile characteristic of this terroir. Upon receiving parchment coffee from various washing stations, the team at RTC meticulously cups and selects the finest lots to be part of the signature Inzovu blend. As the season progresses, they carefully compose the lot, preparing it for export as demand for this sought-after coffee continues to grow.

Rwanda is blessed with ideal coffee-growing conditions, including high altitude, regular rainfall, volcanic soils rich in organic matter, and an abundance of Bourbon coffee varieties. The vast majority of Rwandan coffee is produced by smallholder farmers—approximately half a million of them—who typically cultivate parcels of land no larger than one hectare per family. Coffee is grown across most of the country, with particularly high concentrations along Lake Kivu and in the Southern Province.

Rwandan smallholders organize themselves into cooperatives, sharing the services of centralized wet mills, locally known as washing stations.

Flowering takes place between September and October, with the harvest running from March to July.

Shipments begin in August and continue through December.
